"Wrong Battery" displayed on APX8000 after FW15.12.00/CPS R15.00.02 update

Post by 4-crime »

I just updated an APX8000 to FW R15.12.00 and CPS R15.00.02. After doing so, the radio now displays "Wrong Battery" on the display, the top LED blinks red and I also get a short bonk after every few seconds. Now I checked in CPS under Radio Wide/Features/ and Radio Certification Type and it is defaulted to None on the 8000. Other options are not even displayed in the CPS while the 8000 is connected.

I am using an impres 1 battery and and impres 2 battery and the same issue happens with both.

Also updated an APX7000 and it is also set to "none" but it does not have the same problem.

I am stumped as to why this is happening.

Anyone have an idea?

This should be fixed in a few days with the release of r16. It works as intended on a FM 6kXE though. You won't see any options available if the radio doesn't have FM or UL certification.

These clowns still don't test their work before pushing it to the production world? Literally not one person at Motorola thought to put a battery on an 8K, just to see what happens?
