Audio Stuttering Problem

Hi all,

I just got a new APX6500 and am having an issue with it that I'm hoping someone here can identify. Most of the channels work perfectly, but one of them is making this odd "stuttering" noise. The voice is clear, but the static follows this weird loud/quiet cycle. Here's an audio recording of what it sounds like:

Anyone have any idea what setting in the codeplug might cause/solve this?

Is it a narrow band channel? Is that set in the Cp?

It almost sounds like scan sampling.

It sounds exactly like scan sampling.

Check scan/priority settings and see if that channel is programmed for auto-scan.

That is priority sampling.. It is checking your priority channel while on a none priority every the amount you programmed in seconds.

Yep, you guys nailed it. Disable priority scan and it works without issue. Kind of surprises me though, that such a major feature would cause such annoying audio like that.

How is it possible it couldn't effect the audio?

The radio has to change channel to look at another frequency for a period of time and return to the main channel. Every time it's looking at a different frequency, it can't receive on the main frequency. There has to be audio holes.
