Self Life of APX battery

I found a brand new 2012 APX battery in my technology closet and trying to bring it to life but the impress charger just doesn't seem to be liking it.
Anyone have a decent method to get an initial charge on it? I can't seem to get past the intermittent yellow that eventually turns into a flashing red LED.

How long did you let it sit in the charger?

I had it sit overnight and it finally came around.

Even though this battery was unused it now shows 35 charges and somewhat below the original rating of 2900 mah, but I'm running it through a full impes cycle to see if it comes back up.

I ran it through a complete impres cycle last night and it came up to 2600 mah vs. the 2900 that is noted on the battery label. Not totally unusable, but definitely not the original 100% rating that it is supposed to be. Clearly a lesson to be learned here on long term impres battery storage.

Shame that it is way out of warranty. :-(

We have several that have set for a year or so, not as long as yours did. Normally, we let it sit for 24 hours or so on the conditioner, doing that about 3 times and it "most of the time" will recover to 95-100% of capacity. Generally, that will do it, but sometimes they won't come up at all and end up in the recycle bin.

This is also in an air conditioned room, so that probably helps. I would assume that this all relates to storage conditions, time in storage and in general just the way that particular battery was handled.

Yes it sat in a space that had AC.
