APX CPS R16.01.02 release 23-Aug-2017

Post by sjxts3000 »

Just released today. Looks like the only fixes are for Radio Management.
There's also a new Tuner (R16.01.01)

APX Portable and Mobile CPS R16.01.02
- This version of Radio Management contains the fix for the issue described in MTN-0099-17-NA APX Radio Management – Performing POP25 write following a Firmware Upgrade or FLASHport™ Upgrade from R15 or newer firmware can cause codeplug issues. If you do NOT use POP25, you are NOT impacted by this change and therefore not required to move to this version.
- The Windows 10 operating system is supported. - Radio Management (RM) now supports HTTPS transport protocol. RM clients (RM Client, Device Programmer and Job Processor) are now required to connect to the server over HTTPS on port 443. Please ensure that 443 is added to the exception list on the Windows firewall and on any other firewall used within your organization. - Before upgrading to a new version of RM, make sure to backup your database.

Fixes in R16.01.02 – Radio Management:
Added fix for issue described in MTN-0099-17. In addition, a script has been added during the install to check the database for inconsistencies. If inconsistencies are found the script will fix the database where possible, if the database cannot be fixed, instructions will be provided to fix the database manually.

Hey Motorola, take note!
Your Windows Installer package authors should be fired! It's not rocket science to prompt for removal of previous versions of APX CPS (or not).
Also your installer package keeps hanging if the focus is removed from that window. I have to KILL it and restart the entire thing all over again. I'm on a Win7 64-bit system with a Core i7 processor and 12 GB of RAM with nothing else running and it still hangs. Seriously? The only way I can get it to not hang is to use KEYBOARD underling keystroke commands (read: ADA compliance requirements if not using a mouse) to go through the "Next-->Next-->I agree-->I agree-->Next-->Install" screens on your horribly authorized MSI package! As someone who has authored Windows Installer packages in the past, I can tell you... it's NOT difficult to do this. Just hire some decent software engineers for a change! This problem has been in your installer for the past 10 released now! Fix it!

Anyone noticed there is no APX firmware on the MOL page anymore? I wonder what that's about...
