Where Do MOTO TRBO System Planners Typical Select Off Network Talkgroups?

Post by Jim1348 »

As posted above, where do system planners usually put off-network simplex talkgroups? Do they use the input frequencies, the repeater output frequencies, or do they try very hard to get something else?

In Trbo, simplex is not compatible with repeater operations, so it is best and highly recommended to license separate simplex channels.

Certainly not on the repeater output. Most TRBO machines are set to beacon, typically every two minutes but the Moto planner recommends less in some circumstances. So simplex users on the output would get trod on.

We put them on the repeater output, but is only for use in the event of a repeater failure. If it's a chat channel, then you can't put it on the repeater input as it will cause harmful interference to the repeater users, and as other have mentioned, the output is an issue, particularly in a Cap + system.
