I have a friend who was able to get me a codeplug from a radio that was used on a trunking system (private) that i would like to monitor. The codeplug was from a VHF xts3000 and was on a smartnet system not smartzone. Can i take the information that is located in the OBT control channels list and rx base frequencies and use those in my scanner to monitor the system?
Thanks

Walk slow and carefully here. Trying to program a radio onto a trunking system is not for the first time person. I would suggest that you do a search on here about programming radios onto a trunking system. This is a common topic that has a high number of posts.

Just because it is a private system, that doesn't mean the facts and effort needed to program the radio correctly are any easier.

Enough said.

Jim,

Walk slow and carefully here. I would suggest you take a step back and look at his post again, very carefully.

Motoman: Yes you can.

Thanks, i'm not looking to program it into another XTS i have a uniden 966XT and it asks for control channels. I just wanted to know if the OBT control channel list is what i need or do i need to use the RX frequency table in the CPS.

The system isn't listed in any radio reference or other sources as again its not a known system to the public.
