Cell Booster Antennas

Post by Birken Vogt »

OK, not really a 2 way question but every cop and battalion chief seems to have one of these now.

In the past we found that a simple 800 MHz quarter wave gave the best performance.

But now we have 800 cell, 1900 PCS, 700 LTE, and 1700/2100 AWS, at least where I am from.

Do you all feel it is even worth boosting the 1700-1900-2100 bands at all or are they so line-of-sight that they are either on or off? Especially when considering the run of RG-58 through the vehicle?

If all we boost is 700 and 800, the old QW800 might still be good enough?

The times are changing so fast it is hard to keep ahead of this.
