Saber Convertacom Power wiring / plug question
I purchased saber III and a convertacom NTN5487B. Am having a local radio shop program the radio for 2 meters later this week; however, there was no power cable with the convertacom. I either need to locate one or make one up. Any help on wiring diagram or 4 pole plug wiring would be appreciated. Thanks

Power Plug configuration
looking at the back of the convertacom are the pins for the power plug Left to Right = Red Black Yellow Green, basically is the extreme left pin = red? Thanks
For the Astro Saber AVA NTN7227C, the wiring is like so:
The connector should have numbers on the shell.
1- black
2- green
3- yellow
4- red
this is with the female (cable end) pins up/wires down, with the flat side facing you, and the angled cuts away from you. numbering is left->right.1234.
The is the same connector used for hard disks, etc..
don't forget fuses. 5A on each of the red, green, and yellow leads.
As a sanity check, dc ground and antenna ground will have continuity.

I really appreciate both responses. I am new to this forum and have gleaned a lot of good information already. Again thanks for taking time to respond with your information.
Re: Saber Convertacom Power wiring / plug question
Does anyone know how to disable the back-light on the Saber Convertacom.
Power
Red + Power
Black - Power
Yellow Ignition Sense (disables battery charger)
Green Headlight Sense (turns on panel lights in MVA)
I'm looking to use a spare convertacom as "lockable" Saber battery charger, but don't want the green back-light on to attract attention.
The green wire on mines is not hooked-up and the back-light is always on.
Thanks
Bill

It's all here, middle of the page:
http://www.batlabs.com/astrosab.html
Regular Saber and Astro Saber work in the AVA.
Astro Saber won't work in an SVA.
