CDM dual-control heads cancelled as of today
Guess they couldn't iron the issues out.
Back to ordering them directly from QuickMount/Valley Industrial.Motorola pulled their branding from them only.escomm wrote:The dual control head kits are NLA. Kits affected: RLN5682, RLN5898, RLN5899A, and RLN5900.
I had 5 on order for 3 months,so now I know why they were backordered so long.
Figures.........

Valley Industrial said there is no problems with the units. Why is Motorola no longer offering them ?

I have heard that Mototorla was having a problem with the radios shutting down intermittantly. I have several in use, I have had this happen to me.
What I think the problem was that I had the control unit and radio connected to the main battery disconnect switch. I had the CDM programmed for on/off and follow ignition. I changed to follow ignition only and have not had a problem since.
Also, when I was having this problem, Valley told me to connect their unit directly to the battery, have constant A+ to it. I did this, the radio would not turn on at all. I swiched the A+ back to the main battery on/off switch and guess what, works every time.
Any one have a theory why ???

Motorola requested that QM fix the locking up problems.QM said it was a software issue."M" got letter from QM saying they will not fix the issue."M" pulled QMII from its distro channels.I have found QM none too easy to work with for technical problems with its products. But what else is there out there for dual control heads for CDM? Stuck with QM then.FDC_100 wrote:What do you mean canceled?? They don't sell quick mounts anymore??
I'll have to agree with you on this one. Years after the installation still have to randomly go back to customers that state the display does random things, only to find the exact problem you're describing causing it.jim wrote:The only problem with QuickMount's is the hokey rear metal housing that doesn't engage very well. Other than that, they work just fine. Make sure you never program one through the mic jack!
