Astro Saber service PDF's Where did they go?

Post by bwigg »

I haven't had a need for a ASTRO saber service manual till now and I noticed that the extensive list that was available under the resources tab on the Motorola site is now down to only a couple of manuals. Public website only has users manual. Am I missing something here? Any other way to obtain them in PDF?

I still see them through our dealer account. Perhaps the availability of them was never meant to extend beyond dealer accounts? I know some people have been known to get access, while others haven't, with no real rhyme or reason...even heard of it happening with CPS to an extent. Your best bet would be to use the "contact us" link to ask why you had access, and now don't. You'll either get an explanation, or they'll give you access back again.

If anyone that has access can download the Saber VHF and UHF service manuals let me know. I need to do some repairs on Saber II's and i haven't been able to get the manuals.

I even called Motorola just to double check, the Secure VHF and UHF service manuals are NLA.

I've never seen regular Saber service manuals available in pdf format at all. The "oldest" service manuals available on MOL would be the GTX/LCS series, I guess. Anything older, they haven't bothered.

The Saber manuals are still on there?

Care to download them and email them my way? I can't get diddly from Motorola. I made every attempt to obtain them properly by paying for them, etc, and they just tell me "sorry".

If you ask me, all that leaves is "by whatever means necessary"

I wish! All i have is a couple Portuguese Pro manuals there.

I have called and emailed Motorola through MOL and they said that they couldn't give me access to any more manuals on MOL.

I called Moto and they walked me through it and claim they see the manuals and have no ideal why I don't. But they will get back with me.

I want the the manuals for my personal use since I just picked up some AS radios. The big manual is NLA and I don't have enough parts needed at this time to justify making a $ 5.00 order for just the small manual.

(edited by wavetar) The manual is available, part# 6881076C10.

I'm sure someone will comment on Copyrights and so forth.

But really, if Motorola can't sell me a copy because they no longer have it available then what the heck else can a guy do?

Well Scott, like you figured, I don't really have a problem with people trying to source NLA manuals. I have verified the Saber theory/maintenance manual is NLA, so I figure do what you gotta do to get the info.

Now Billy on the other hand, the Astro Spectra detailed service manual is indeed available through MOL, part# 6881076C10. I even called to double-check, since they didn't show a stock level, and was told it would ship by Feb 10th. So, I removed your email address & request as it would be against the board policy to be asking for something which is currently available.

Hopefully that clears it up...if it's available, you can't ask for it here.

When I logged on and looked it up it showed no stock so I assumed it was NLA. Thanks for the effort.

A batboard member was nice enough to send me the service manuals for the Saber from MOL. Of course they are missing the model charts and schematics like all of the online versions are, but having the info in the text to go by is a heck of a lot better than nothing!

If anyone wants a copy of these, VHF and UHF Saber Secure and the supplements etc, send me an email or PM and let me know i will be happy to pass them along to others.

Wavetar:

Any chance that the batlabs site will eventually host these NLA manuals for download?

Well, I don't think it's a native function of phpBB to host files, if you mean here. If you mean the main Batlabs site...that's totally up to Batwing or whatever his name is over there.
