anyone got a pinout or can tell me how to make a programming cable for one

It should be the same cable for :

Maxtrac/GM300/M216/Maratrac's/ect...

no it takes an adapter cable i jsut need the pinout for the adapter cable

Does anyone know if channel steering is available on the 16pin connector like on the GM300s? Is the 16pin connector the same physical & pinouts of the maxtrac/GM300 radios?

in the CPS some of the accessory pins can be set to channel select 1 through 4, so I'd say it can do the channels steering, the acc. connector pinout is pretty much the same as gm300, I think one I/O pin is capable of SCI, other than that I don't see much difference.

Does anyone know the pinout of the adapter cable?? I need to get one working??

I have sold a great number of this radio allready and am going strong. The CM (commercial) series mobile radios needs an adapter that has a switch to select program or flash the radio. You need to have a Maxtrac / Mobile programming cable to the adapter to work. I took my adapter apart and it looks very simple. I will be making a direct rib to radio cable soon, I will post on this site.

The radio can be remoted and has steering lines as in several of the GM series and Maxtrac series radios. There are steering lines that allow for you to access all channels in configurations. These radios are the best, finally /\/\ got it together.

Hi all, I have a schematic of the programming cable for the cm300 and have sent it to batlabs. Hopefully it will be posted soon. In the meantime if anyone needs it email me direct and i will send it to you.

You can program the CM ans PM series two ways...

1...Thru the mic jack. This uses the Maxtrac cable with an adapter.

2... Thru the 16 pin accy jack on the back of the radio. (20 pin on the PM)

I've pinned out the adaptor, as far as for regular programming. It's the same as the Maxtrac cable, but with two pins shorted in the RJ-45 end. You can still use the cable for Maxtrac/GM300/CDM, etc with this short in it.

Just remember pins 6 & 8 are shorted in the RJ45 end, and pins 4 & 11 are shorted in the DB-25 end. For the RJ45 pin numbers, I am looking at the connector as it plugs into the CM300, with the clip on the bottom, pin 1 on the far left, pin 8 on the far right. I haven't pinned it out for the flashing portion of it.

Looking at the opposite end the wires go into the 10 pin conn they are labeled 10-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 tab on bottom.
NOTE There is a 1k ohm resistor between pin 12 and pin 16 inside tha db25 body. Also I have been told that you can use an 8 pin rj45 for this application, but the factory cable comes with a 10 pin conn. This pinout comes straight from the card I got with my cable. So according to this picture the pin 6 & 8 would be the PTT and Handset audio.

GTF374 is best direct cable (without adaptor FKN8096).

That is correct. Both are referenced to ground, and the handset audio is a fixed level independent of the volume control.

No! It's been 6 years since I posted it, and so I'm trusting I described it correctly, but in my pin-out description above, I said "I am looking at the connector as it plugs into the CM300, with the clip on the bottom, pin 1 on the far left, pin 8 on the far right".

Looking at your picture, the numbering is the opposite of what I used. So, with your numbering scheme you'd be shorting pins 1 & 3.
