What is the difference??
I have had the MT. It does QCII. I need that feature. I have heard that the MTS does not do QCII. I am looking at getting one of them instead of a MT. I need a radio that is 160 ch, capiable of QCII and will do 12.5/25 KHz spacing. I dont want to get hung with a MTS if it will not do at least everything a MT will do.
Please Help.
Thanks

Wes,
The MTS is based on the flashcode system - in order to have a feature - it must be flashed.
QCII, Singletone, and some other features are flash options, I think they are pretty cheap.
If you want a good MTS try and find one with version 6.0+ firmware. That'll do most the MDC stuff, and those radios should do what you want 25/12.5khz without issue.....
The
MT2000's support QCII - providing you have a late revision firmware... I think Yosh who has had his back and forth to the factory said that it's at 2.11 or something like that. No promises

He'd be a good person to ask tho.

Alex, thanks for the help.
I am buying that radio that Yosh has, he promised it to me before he got back from the depot the very first time. He says it will do what i need.
I am looking for a 2nd 2000 and I have had someone offer me an MTS, that is why i wanted to find out all i could about them before i say "i'll take it".

Gotcha -
Be careful of people selling MTX controlers as MTS... If you want help with how to get the seller to check and stuff let me know, more than happy to help.
