cx or dx kvl with astro products

I was reading the xts3000 service manual and it was very clear that a cx or dx loader was needed to load a astro product. I had always thought that only dx and kvl3k's will do astro radios but not the cx versions ????

can anyone clear this up.

The XTS3000 can be manualy keyloaded by the KVL3000 or by a "DX" keyloader only. The hybrids for these radios require that a logical ID be incerted at the same time as the trafic key. The "CN" keyloader was the first ASN loader on the block, but without LID's. Your suspicions our correct Mike. You must have found a misprint in a manual.

Hi do you know what protocol is used to load the key data??
