MDC 1200 in simplex?

Post by rx91 »

Will MDC 1200 work on a non trunked system? I need a group of MTS2000s set up to work in simplex with MDC enabled.

I don't think it is used in trunking anyway. It is used in conventional simplex and repeater systems all the time.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

MDC is only used on conventional systems. You may hear it on trunking system, but only because a talkgroup would be patched in to a conventional radio channel.

That threw a couple of people off around here with Hartford's EDACS system with a MED channel patched in with some ambulances with MDC enabled.
