Thanks Guys,
The agency paging is using the menatality that they always worked with the minitors , must be the radios.
The oringinal tones and minitorII reeds are 390/975, i noticed the motorola tone 389 code113 seems to work better and i have rounded up the 2nd tone to 976 (as the reeds were between 975 and 977.
. defintitely works better using CSQ altho PL 151.4 is transmitted from the encoder.
i have APF off, emphasis :none, no compression.
I only have trouble with the 390/975 combo, we are using a/b, a/c , c/d combos for 3 alerts on the same channel and only trouble is with 390/975. I was told the 390/975 were original Plectron tones and the 389 is motorola code 113. the encoder is motorola and using a sequence code for the 2 tones.
when lookiong at the table for the encoder, the tones are 389/977. hard to beleive that
th ht1250s are that senesitive to 1hz!
I sent 1 radio that was fairly consistent not tripping back to motorola and it now works, dont know what they did other than flash it.
The thing that is intermittent is that sveral ht1250s work and some others dont but inconsistently.

Therein lies the problem: multiple calls
on one channel.
I have seen other radios besides the
Pro series become a bit "deaf" when
using that many calls. The Minitor II's
work because they have a specially built
tone filter for each tone, the radios have
the code plans buried in the CPU, along
with everything else. Everything has to be
just right to work. I am not a big fan of
using radios as pagers when that many calls
are used. Obviously the Min 3 has the same
problem.
Your problem is going to be difficult if
not impossible to resolve, given that you
have to go up against the people in
charge of the paging encoder itself.

that's what i keep hearing.
i believe the agency (PD) is going to upgrade the controller soon. hope that helps.
we (FD) purchased the radios because they could support the 3rd set and for $150 more than the minitor II, we got a transceiver.
i trial tested 2 ht1250s and was quite satisfied with them, then we bought 30 more and every other one has trouble (go figure).
The CDM1250s seem to work all the time. I have voice storage option on a couple ht's that works good too, but too complicated to use vs the old minitor II VS.
do you know if any of the firmware flashes address the tone issue?
i have actually narrowed down some of the users radios to 2 calls a/b, c/d and that helps too. sounds like i havetoo many variables to overcome.
thanks for your comments
