Has anyone every seen or heard of a supplier offering "AA" battery packs for the Motorola MX series of portable?

MX radios have been common on the surplus market for a while. We have found them to be excellent for the outdoors, where they are prone to be dropped or driven over with an ATV. However, they aren't used that much. NiCd packs are unreliable under occassional use. I've seen one vendor of MX screw together battery packs... and will try to see if I can put AA into this somehow. A ready made product would be the cat's meow.

Any suggestions?

When I was working for the government we had those for our keyloaders, however the AA packs we had were black, they never matched the colour of any motorola products that used those batterys. It may have been a special deal for the government or it may have been something anyone could buy from motorola.
But like I said they fit the MX radio and keyloader but they where black for whatever reason.
