Gang...
I've got the chance to get 2 VHF Quantar repeaters, with TX/RX cans for a ridiculously low price (surplus equip.)
I'd like to use one of them as our ARES repeater at 145 MHz, and the other as a spare. I've got programming access from the dealer I'd be buying these from.
Are there any quirks I need to be aware of with these units? I'll be getting model numbers, etc. later this afternoon and will update this post then.
There are a total of 4 units available...
4 VHF Quantar's...now available!

Do not make Sig angry...he'll just keep ringing the bell.
The VHF Quantar is available in two frequency ranges: 132-154 and 150-174.
Our experience with several of the 150-174 range stations is that they work OK down to 146 but not at 145. That doesn't mean a station you buy would act the same way.
The RSS will let you put in the out of range frequency, but the issue is VCO lock.
Your best bet is a low range station.

No need for IMBE here....they'd be conventional only.
Update on the prices: When my source first got these a few months ago, they were going for about $2,000 a piece, now all of a sudden my source wants $4,000 a piece, because some people before me showed interest (but never came through...??). I think he's nuts, since all indications are that they are conventional only.
Make me some offers that I can take to him, and he'll probably sell. He likes $$, so if I start waving some he'll bite.
I can power them up and read them with RSS and get the particulars for any interested parties. I have physical access to them and have seen them. These will be range 2, since their repeater was 155/158.xxx MHz. Unknown about encryption at this point.
