GP300 speaker problem

Post by radiocat37 »

I have a GP300 internal speaker verified as bad (confirmed by hooking leads to a known good speaker--worked great). Do I have to buy the speaker-mic-paper cable assembly, or can I just get a replacement speaker? :o
Where are earth do they sell those little speakers at? Rat shack has done away with them.

Brian Griffin: Ah, if my memory serves me, this is the physics department.
Chris Griffin: That would explain all the gravity.
.

Lois: Peter, you're drunk again.
Peter: No, I'm just exhausted because I've been up all night drinking.

They're like $5 and available from any Motorola radio dealer. Check your yellow pages, of course, someone here might have one available too- yes you can get them speaker-only.

GP300 Speakers a Dime a Dozen

Post by Daniel Watson »

The speakers are the same as P110's & GP88's. I have a hundred of them or more. Still need one (speaker/Mic assembly). Let me know

Speaker Mic Problem Update

Post by Daniel Watson »

Be careful, I thought we had a speaker mic jack problem but it turned out to be a bad lead wire from the internal mic/speaker. It probably came from re-casing the radio and the little ribbon wire connector had a break, probably from pulling on it, and the internal mic did not work. These ribbon wires do not take much stress. Check them with a simple ohm meter before assuming a speaker mic problem.
