Hello all. I am going to be adding a remote mic to my existing GM300 mobile radio. It is the standard 8 pin type radio like on the front. I am using an existing 8 pin RJ45 cable that was run for another purpose but never used. What pins from the RJ45 do I need to connect to the radio and where using the 16 pin jack on the back??

Thanks to all!!

If it's a standard Maxtrac/GM mic, the colours you need are:

Green - PTT
Red - Mic Hi
Black - Ground

The pins you are looking for on the Maxtrac/GM are:

External Mic In - pin 2
PTT - Pin 3
Ground - Pin 7

Make those 3 connections and you're ready to roll.

Don't forget to use a shielded cable if the cable runs near anything AC powered or any EMI/RF emitting device, otherwise a hum or other noise may be present on transmit- with EITHER microphone.
