MAX232 ic question

I think the differences are the package styles and the temperature specs.
I would say you would want the DIP package,
Texas Instruments lists this as style "N".
I have the latest Mouser cat. here but didn't find much info on the MAX232 in it,
so I went to the Texas Instruments site and looked it up.

If you can find them, the MAX233CPP is a good one. I found a few and made up some real simple programmers for my kenwood/vertex/johnson radios. All you need is the chip, 7805 regulator, I think a 10uF electrolytic cap, and some protoboard. The nice thing about the 233CPP is that all the capacitors are internal, only a few jumpers to enable them. That plus lines in/out, 5V and ground and away you go. Good luck, Will
