System Wide transmit set up on typeII

Post by mmckenna »

Wondering if someone could give me some direction on setting up the system wide transmit function on my system. The memory battery went bad on our CEB, and everything was lost. I was able to program in all the talk group settings and the individual settings, but I have not been able to make much sense of the instructions on how to program the system wide.

Thanks

System Wide transmit is a function setting in the Trunked Central Controller, not a Centracom CEB. I have the instructions written down at work, but am not there. By memory, you have to go into SAC records, and list the default record (LIST I*). In that record, the flag for system-wide will read 'SYS' and have a '0' below it, indicating disabled. This is the power-up default. To change it to a 1, you need to type something like 'EDIT I*;SYS=1' or something like that. I can post the exact procedure on Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday up here...or perhaps this will help you figure it out on your own. Post by Tuesday if you still need the info.

Thanks Wavetar,

My parents are both Canadian, and they made sure I was always aware of the Queens birthday, as well as other specific holidays. Hope you enjoy the day off.

I figured it was something in SAC, but couldn't quite narrow it down. I was able to determine that it is based on T804095 talkgroup, and I do have that enabled. The dispatch consoles are also set to have SYS=Y. I'll take a look at that field.

Thanks.

I was able to get all the subscriber data put back in, and I want to restrict access to the system wide function, so I have it enabled on the dispatch consoles only, and, like I mentioned above, I have the talk group enabled. Maybe I have the talkgroup thing wrong. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

I was almost correct in my post. In the SAC, you need to type in "EDIT I*; SYW=Y" (without the quotes, but with the space between ;_SYW) to enable system wide transmit function. This is the only way I've ever done it.
