Start Site problem

Need some input with a moto startsite problem. This site is used as a back-up for the main smartnet system. It uses 5 MTR2000 800Mhz repeaters.
The problem that I have encountered is that some of the radios used as bases on the system will not connect with the back-up but are ok on the main system. The system is in standby mode with the transmitters of the MTR's inhibited while the main system is in operation. The strange thing is that it is only the MCS2000 type 2 remote dual head radios that are giving me grief. Anyone with any ideas?

Are you running the Startsite (s) in default mode, or are you restricting access to certain TGs and IDs? Are the proms identical? If you move the backup radios to the live Startsite, or vice-versa, where does the problem stay? If you are running default, is the backup truly defaulted?

The only thing that pops into my head right off the bat is an ID conflict. Perhaps the Startsite unit has one or more Type I size codes in it, which would restrict the Type II codes available for operation. For instance, if there were a Type I size code in the first 'block', then Type II ID's from 0001-0511 (001-1FF in Hex) cannot be used in the field radios. If the Type I size code resides in the last block, then ID's 49152-65535 (C000-FFFF) cannot be used. Check out the 'as blown' which would contain the fleetmap for the unit. I would start there.
