GE Master II Date Code?

Post by TXCAP »

I've got a GE Master II w/ a "Ship Code" of 918, can anyone confirm to me what it is, No speculation, or guessing please. I need to have this to justify a new one for some commisioners.

It means ship year either 79 or 89 (other factors show that) and week 18 ref jan 1 being week 1 and dec 31 being week 52
If the mobile has a chrome model it is a 79, if it is a brown handle it is an 89.. Stations are a little harder to tell.. The model designantions changed at 1980 and some internals are different... The Modules and IC 's have date codes which can help sort out whether 79 or 89 too..This is book, take it to the bank..If it has PLL oscillators it is likely 89, if phased oscillator in tx it is 79.. This all assumes original parts...
All this indicates when it was shipped from the factory...
