MSR2000 VHF conversion to narrowband

Post by Al »

Does anyone know whether Mot offers a narrowband conversion kit for the MSR2000 VHF stations and, if so, what the part number would be?

I don't think Motorola offers much of ANYTHING for the MSR2000. It is officially 'outside the window of support'

You can still get some parts, even manuals, but when current stock is gone....

Comm-Spec (http://www.com-spec.com) should be able to help you.

CommSpec has a narrow band kit for the MSR2000 receiver and filters for other receivers too. TX, reset the TX deviation to 2.5Khz MAX. You may need to increase the recovered discriminator audio by increasing the value of R229 on the receiver board.
You need 200mV audio at P201-5 for 1.5khz Dev at 1khz tone from a signal generator.

MSR2000 RX = Mitrek RX.
