XTS3000 New Software Release

Post by Radio99 »

RVN 4182M (CPS R04.01.02) (Tuner R01.02.00)

Here are the changes made on this version:

===========================================================================
ASTRO SABER & XTS 3000 CUSTOMER PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE R04.01.02
===========================================================================

Please be aware that DOS RSS is no longer supported. Once the radio
has been programmed by CPS version R03.00.00 or greater, DOS RSS
will no longer read the radio.

New Radio Features Supported:
------------------------------

- "Analog Trunking Display ID", when enabled, the transmitting radio's
Trunking Individual ID is shown on the receiving radio's display.

-"Imbalanced Coverage Indicator" selects the alert type used by the
radio to indicate reduced communication due to unaffiliated status of
the radio.

CPS Enhancements in this Release:
---------------------------------

- The Advanced System Key feature is now supported. This feature can
be used to produce system keys that have limited functionality and/or
have an expiration date.
This feature also supports obsolescing the older keys if you desire by
providing an option to only honor the new keys for radio programming.

- The Feature Access Setup feature is now supported. This feature allows
administrators to selectively grant/revoke permissions to CPS users to
access various CPS features based on the user login account.
This feature is only supported for Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

It must. I tried it on a XTS3000 that has firmware 07.07.00 / DSP N07.03.20 and it wouldn't display a analog trunking ID.

I have also tried the "Analog ID dispaly" feature on both of my AS III's and it doesn't work on them either. It would be nice to have that working, oh well, maybe someday :-?

I'm running host 07.13.00 and DSP 08.02.08 in both the UHF and 800 AS III. I hope you find something out because I would like to use this. Let me know what you come up with...

You do your avatar proud Shaun. I don't see where you're coming from. I don't recall you not getting helpful information when you needed it.

Not too many dealers see more XTS3000 radios than ours, and we haven't had any with firmware versions as high as you posted yet. Don't forget, Motorola often has a certain level of stock to go through before you get 'the newest'. Hell, I've opened brand-new just arrived radios which were more than 6 months behind the newest firmware release.

I have no doubt someone, be it myself or someone else, will post with further information as soon as it's available.

i agreed with R0f to a certain extent.

the knowledge is out there.... and can be had... it's just a matter of finding out who is sitting on the knowledge.

as for hold outs, yep - i agree there too.

for phun, i called the 800 # the other day and asked for the complete list of astro saber/xts firmware vs. feature set vs. DSP

the guy on the fone sez... "NO PROB"... "GIVE ME YOUR FAX #"

as i eagerly awaited the fax machine to poop (and try to avoid dumping a load on the floor)....

i got a year old software version list.

oh well

Shaun, you need to start listening to Tom Leykis, He always says no more than $40 on a date.

The word that I have on this is you need to have the H14 option in the radio for this to function.

Still looking into it further.

Oh yes, I know it wasn't directed at me. But to say this board sucks because it may take a few weeks/months to get the latest/greatest information is being harsh, when one considers the staggering amount of valuable information it currently does contain. As Batude pointed out, even trying to get the information from Motorola direct is more miss than hit. I ain't joking when I say I generally get far more accurate & timely information from here than I do from Motorola themselves...non-contributing lurkers notwithstanding. Just try & find your 'happy spot' man. Visualize a near-naked Randy kicking Cyrus' ass like I saw on TPB the other night. That'll do it :)

Hey guys,
I have two AS-III's and both have the H14/G114 Digital ID Display enabled but still no Analog ID Display at all in trunking. If this is the only option needed then there must be something more to it. Maybe a different rev of Host as suspected. I'm interested to see how this turns out.

800 AS-III
Host - 07.13.00
DSP - N08.02.08
Flash - 599108-5F4600-1

UHF 445-512 AS-III
Host - 07.13.00
DSP - N08.02.08
Flash - 599108-1C5E00-1

Oh, it absolutely makes sense that the latest/greatest firmware is required. New feature generally = new firmware. If it's 7.21.xx or whatever that's required, everybody below that revision is screwed without an upgrade. Motorola doesn't give a crap about Joe Blow on the street. Any large corporation who wants the feature will likely be willing to pay for it to be flashed into the radios. In fact, with the XTS3000 scheduled to be cancelled, what better way to make cash off a dead product line than to bring out a much wanted feature & make it so an upgrade is required.

To all those wondering.

Host R07.22.01 WILL Display Trunked Analog ID's as advertised.
