MT1000 programming cable

Ok.. I've looked at the schematic, as well as the 'simple' description.... I have also seen other programming cables.. The 'simple' explanation shows there are 4 pins on the radio connector used - 5,6,7 & 9... all of other cables I've seen, only use 5,6, & 9.. Since there is no test box connected, wouldn't red go just to 5, green just to 6, and white just to 9? Or does radio pin 7 actually have a purpose for programming?

Hi:

On the HT600/MT1000, 3 conections
are required.

Pin 5 of the [ Radio ] universal connector is ground.
Pin 6 is Data
Pin 9 is Busy

So:

From the DB25F you need to do the
following;

From Pin 8[ DB25F ] goes to Pin 9 of the Radio universal connector

From Pin 24 [ DB25F ] goes to Pin 6 of the
radio universal connector

From Pin 1 [ DB25F ] goes to Pin 5 of the
radio universal connector

Pins 4 to 11 are shorted together in the
DB25F

Those are the only ones you need for
basic programming

Also, please note that on external Mics, those locations do not have holes, so
you either have to Drill your own, or get
a base plate and Cover Shell to make a
premium cable.

The MT1000, HT600, P200 series radios will not program on most aftermarket RIBs. The x brand RIBs do not have the Busy line setup like Motorola's RIB does. The Busy line is not used on the mobiles, GP300-P110, GP350, P1225 portable radios.
