Centracom I button question

Post by Radiogeek97 »

Guys

excuse the ignorance on my part, but i was curious as to what function the buttons (we never touch them) on the front of the centracom I console we have at work do.
it seems to me that mabee they can be used to page? I vaguley rember the moto teck coming out after one of our timer cards failed and the display literally said "oops". the tech pressed some of the buttons and all was well again. Is there any info/manual on the board that would describe what these buttons do.

take care

thanks

If the display said "oops" then you have a Centracom Series II, not a Centracom I.

The functions that can be performed from the keypad include diagnostics, setting the clock, and entering pages manually. What can be done is also dependent on operator position personality programming and on whether the console is Series II or Series II +.

All the instructions are contained in the operators manual. Every console system ships with at least one copy of the operators manual for each operator position. Someone probably put yours in a "safe" place. Look around your center.

There is also usually a copy of the operators manual inserted in the giant CEB maintenance manual binder.

thanks for the clarification on my error, I didnt realize that we had the state of the art :D. i am sure at one time there was a manual but this set-up has seen 2 headquaters moves and 10 years or so of service so it is long gone. If it was an option that had to be paid for i am pretty sure that we don't have it. I just was curious if (the buttons) could be used for call alert/radio check. i will try to locate one (manual) locally, thanks for the info and corection.

take care
