I was hoping on some feedback as far as the pro's and cons of both stations/repeaters. (quantar vs mtr2000) My department is cheap (as most are) and stuff will only ever get replaced when it fails. Well currently our main is a 9yr old or so quantar standby is an old micor and we have 1 msr2000 reciever. The quantar main works good but the standby x-mitter is crappy and the recieve side of it is 1/2 deef the msr 2000 reciever is also deef, our current radio shop actually gave us the msr and rigged it up as a reciever.
If budjet was no concern obviously quantar or newer would be the way to go, but if we had a chance to upgrade all at once and put in new recivers/and a standby in what would we be giving up by going from a quantar based system to a majority of mtr2000's. Wea are in the 464.500 mghz range and astro will never be in the cards for us. What do you folks think?

if you are never going digital, then you definately don't need the quantar.
you can get at least 2 MTR stations for the price of a quantar too.
i'd say you should transition to MTR!
