XTS-5000 Multi Key help

Post by whome »

Have an 800mhz smartzone XTS-5000 with encryption. Right now it is single key. Is there any other way of making the radio Multi Key capible other then shelling out mega bucks to a Motorola shop to just turn on this feature?

no, there is no other way.

however, i would add that multikey is not an expensive flash bump - maybe $75 or so

this is of course, assuming your radio is legit.

Thanks, now to find a shop that won't charge me $300 +.

Yes it is legit, I just use it for employment at more then one place (more then one secure key).

The Motorola DNUP for XTS5000 multi-key is $330.00. If you are having someone do the flash - by the time their labor is added - you are looking at $400 or so.

It works very well. You can have up to 48 traffic keys. On conventional modes you can strap the keys to the channels - or allow the user to select the key from a menu.

When the radio is operating in trunking modes - the keys must be slaved [no menu selection possible]. You can slave keys to talkgroups. You can also select the key that will be associated with other call types such as private call, interconnect, emergency, etc.
