Source for error codes (08/10, 12/10). Spectra questions.

Post by Ranger522 »

:( Used radio off Ebay (First mistake?)

Moto Spectra id#D44KXA7JA5BK

Remote mount (A5, also came with A9)

Dual 25 pin connectors in front, 15 pin in rear

Powers up fine then gives ER 12/10 and 08/10 (also 001). Busy light flashes constant. Moto CPS cannot access the radio.

Question: Is the busy light causing the CPS problem? Or, What do I have to do to make this radio work?

Please help! If you know any good site for error codes please reply.

Thanks

You say you are trying to read the radio with CPS. What version???

Your radio model number indicates the radio is not an Astro radio. Normally you should be using Spectra RSS part number RVN-4001. You should also be sure that everything in your programming setup - computer, RIB, and cables has successfully read Spectras before.

Your radio's MLM codeplug data is probably incorrect or corrupt. It can be corrected but may take special software tools. For further information, read the Spectra pages on Batlabs.

Thanks, that may be the problem. I'm using CPS P02.00.00/RVN4183F.
Do you know what the error code signify?

I have been programming VHF Astro Spectras with this setup so I know that my software, cables and RIB are working.

Thanks again.

I guess I wasn't clear enough. Astro CPS and Astro RSS will NOT work with a Spectra radio - you need Spectra RSS.
