XTS3000 Repair Question

Post by jackd »

My radio went into 01/92 fail code and the shop I sent it to cannot reload the archive . I was told he was going to reflash the radio ? What does this mean ? Is it like putting a new operating system in a computer ?
Whats the cost of that.....

No radio shop other than the actual Motorola depot can 'reflash' an XTS3000 radio, unless they go through the FLASHport upgrade procedure. This involves special hardware & software which is ordered from Motorola specifically for the target radio(s).

A FLASHport upgrade is a couple hundred dollars at a minimum, and is weeks/months in the making.

A more likely scenario is the shop in question has gotten it's hands on a copy of LAB software, with which it's possible to force a codeplug into a radio & fix the 01/92 error. I have no idea what they might charge for that.
