Astro Saber Problem

Post by FiremanSparky »

I recently obtained a 800 MHz Astro Saber III in a Astro Saber IR housing with no tags. I was informed that it was last used on a analogue 800 MHz trunked system. After removing the internals from the IR housing, I noticed that it did not have a display. After installing a display and flex, I put it in a III housing, to read the radio (Host, DSP, etc) via Service Mode. After powering the radio up, the display reads "self test" and stays that way, even after pressing the ".." button 5 times and a tone sounds as if you are reading any other display radio. The display doesn't show anything else. Does this mean that this is a Saber I with no display ability (and I was mislead), or the display has not been programmed. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
F
