Astro Consolette

Post by scoops »

I have a W5 astro spectra in a consolette. The radio is programmed with 6 modes. Only mode 1 and 6 are in the zone. When on mode 6, the radio will tx from the mic connector. If the radio is keyed from the remote, it switches to mode 1. I've been all over the RSS and cant find whats causing this. The only thing I can figure, is the VRS function. I don't know why the radio has these, but its not being used as a repeater. Any help would be appriciated.

There are two typical Astro Consollette configurations.

The first configuration contains an interface board like TRN7391A and interfaces to desksets like the RCH3000. In this case the desksets should display the selected mode and be able to change it as required.

The other configuration contains an interface like PLN1360A and interfaces to tone remote consoles and desksets. In this case the radio mode follows the tone remote command sequence sent from the deskset.

If the deskset sends an F1 function tone - the Consollette will switch to mode one regardless of where it was previously set with the front panel controls.

The interface is to a tone remote console. So is there a way to change this so the channel selected stays. Can this be done with the current interface board.
Thanks
