New to the Apco-25 world here

Post by willbartlett »

OK, I'm sold. I got my first IMBE astro saber in last night. I can listen to the NHSP nicely from inside my house 20+ miles from the NH border. I guess the coverage with digital can rival analog, as the signal recieved in analog is a bit spotty, audio quality is excellent as well. Neat toy. Now I guess I need to start reading this forum on a daily basis as well.

Yep, I got 2, One of the first 2 vselp, and he listed the IMBE one the day I got the vselp one. Pretty good deal on the IMBE model, I'l brobably either make it a UHF or 800 eventually, as the MSP is going apco25 sometime in the next year. Or I'll just hang onto it till I get bored. (Not long usually)

And I could see how it could easily become an addiction.

Fun aren't they? I was able to get Jaymz the other day from 15 miles away on 1 watt VHF (Astro Saber), nice and clear.

Then again, I was on top of a mountain top with a good 1000 ft elevation above him.. :)
