Attempting to program a Sys Saber VHF portable. When attempting to read the radio, this error appears: Serial Bus Error....Could not aquire busy line. Turn off radio and try again!!!
I have tryed two computers, another radio, and checked the RIB to Portable connections....and using a motrola RIB....Still the same error.
Open for ideas..

System Saber Problem Question

Check your cable between the computer and the RIB. I just went through this grief on my HT600's and it was the serial cable. I bought a plain old 9pin to 25pin serial modem cable and it ended up not having a wire from pin9 to pin22 which is the busy in line.
If your using a Motorola rib then check that weird 15 pin cable they used for the serial port connection. Could be a bad connection in that as well i would imagine.

Duct tape is like the force, it has a dark side and a light side and it holds the universe together.

Well the problem got solved... That 9 volt battery. What was strange was being able to program a regular saber with regular saber software with no problems using the current battery.
Using the System saber software with the System saber portable it would come up with the error.
Changed the battery.....No more problems.
Thanks to all for their help and suggestions...
