Care of one 403-430 Astro spectra, possible? pull RF sections and find a "K" split codeplug? What am I missing, no, not my head.

If the lights are out when you leave the station and then come on the second you key up, you know you have enough power.
I am going to try this using an 800 Astro Spectra and a VHF Spectra as a starting point - hoping to end with an 800 Analog Spectra and a VHF Astro Spectra.
You would swap the Command, VOCON and RF boards from the Astro radio into the VHF radio and put the corresponding analog boards into the [previously] Astro donor. There are a few small parts [5-6] to change between frequency ranges on the RF boards and it should work just fine.
Obviously you have to have codeplugs for the target radio models to shove in to finish the conversion - then wrap up by doing a full alignment on each radio.
