Base mic hard-wired to Mitrek mobile control head

Post by w8cmi »

I need to wire a Motorola desk mic (TMN-1005-B) to a Mitrek clamshell control head.

The desk mic has flying leads. Apparently the original plug was cut off.

Anyone know the microphone wire color to pin match-up to make this work? I'm making a base station out of a mobile, in case you haven't guessed ...

My two bits worth:
The TMN 1005 is a generic Motorola base station mike.
This mike ships with spade lugs on the wires, is also available with various plugs for specific applications such as yours.

The Mitrek uses the Micor style plug, as does the MCX100 series.
wiring:
TMN1005
Brown Mike HI
Shield Mike low
Green PTT
White PL monitor.
Black ground
Yellow, Red Opens on PTT. Speaker muting in intercom applications.

Mitrek: J102 mike conn----------Control cable
1 Hand set rx audio------------- 3 Orange
2
3 PTT------------------------------17 Black/Violet
4 Mike low------------------------- 2 Red shield
5 Mike High------------------------ 1 Brown
PL mute 16 Black/Blue
Be very careful not to ground pin 2 mike low to anything.
Causes noise on TX audio.
I have included the control cable pin out so you can connect directly to it if you can't find a plug for the mike connector.
It should be possible to remove the plastic housing from an old mike, the connector shells, as well as pins were available from parts at one time.
Aloha, Bernie
