Volunteer Needed: VoIP with Quantar

Post by ASTROMODAT »

We are currently experimenting with connecting 2 distant Quantar repeaters (one is UHF, the other is 800 MHz) via IMBE digital voice ops over the Internet. At each end, we have a DIU 3000 interfaced to a DVSI Net 2000 box. We also have a custom interface box that passes the ASTRO control tones over the Internet (key-up, proper carrier detect, etc.). We would like to involve a 3rd Quantar repeater outside of our system. You will need a Quantar repeater on any band, and a DIU 3000 at your end, and you must be running an ASTRO modem at your Quant that is connected to your DIU 3000 via leased line. You will also need at least one P25 subscriber set with Data 12 capabilities. We will loan you a Net 2000 box, and the interface box that sits between your DIU 3000 and the Net 2000 box. You must have either DSL or cable high speed Internet connectivity collocated with your DIU. You will also need to sign an NDA, but we’ll make it worth your while.

If you are interested, please PM me.

I split the rest of this topic from here because it wasn't helping Larry's cause of finding volunteers for his project. Steve, if you want to continue discussing possibilities of interfacing with Larry's equipment, please do it with him through PM's.

The rest of the thread can now be found here:

Debate away to your heart's content in that one. Thanks,

Todd

Will do....All I wanted was to be a volunteer....unfortunatley had i to start defending and justifying because of doubts. I'll gladly take it over there.
