Best option for 100 watt speaker

Post by Larry »

Currently I have a Federal Signal Dynamax speaker connected to a Whelen Beta siren.... This speaker seems adequate so far, but was curious if there was something better. I have limited space behind the grill and need something that's not too bulky.

The Dynamax seems to offer very poor performance for radio rebroadcast and sound is garbled at low volume. Was thinking about the Federal BP100....

I just threw a used Whelen 314P speaker in. Amazingly, it fits in the suburban grille where most lights will not (at least without tons of mounting brackets).

Sounds really good, and its thin. This speaker is becoming/is the most popular grille speaker out there.

Check out CPI products.... REALLY nice stuff.

Most ambulances use them.

I've been MORE than happy with my Whelen SA314P, and would recommend that. Can't vouch for CPI, as I haven't had personal experience with them.

SA314P all the way. Trust me. I used to do siren speaker and driver repair.... and I use the SA314p and wouldn't use anything else.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"
