Motorola 2008C Service monitor???

Post by FMROB »

Question---- How do you make this unit decode PL/DPL...

Any special function or menu that I am missing. There is nothing listed on the display selection function row.

Thanks, Rob

methinks you need the "D" version to decode PL/DPL

What about the "special features" function.

On the 2001D pressing the two cursor buttons twice would bring you into the special features menu, But I can't seem to get it working on the 2008C.

My thoughts would be that since the 2008 is a later and better model it should have the same if not higher features??? Just a thought..

Thanks, Rob

Doug,

I did not know that.. Thank you for the info...

So I guess that this thing will not decode pl/dpl.

That sucks......

Thanks, Rob

What radios do you own?: Too many

It seems to me that if you scroll down on the DISPLAY column to the SIGNALLING SEQUENCE you should get the SIGNALLING SEQUENCE mode select menu. PL decode should be below that. Its definately not in the SPF's. Its not on the display in the normal "GEN/MOD mtr" selection.

I forgot to mention that my old 2001B had it.

PETNRDX is correct, it should be selection 4 in the menu, DPL should be 5.

My two bits worth:
On the A/B/C pressing both cursor buttons causes the unit to power up with the current functions, and frequencies.
The A&B units are functionally identical.
I will look and see if there is a DPL decode function on the C, but I don't recall ever seeing it.

On the C model Signalling sequence is not one of the menu choices, at least not on my unit.

However, Mr. Rich Wlash "800MhzRadio" hooked me up with a 2012D model that was damn near new and in absolute pristine condition for a very nice price.

He went out of his way to make things right, and I completely 110% trusted him and he came through.

I would highly reccomend any future dealings with him in any way, espicially if you need a service monitor.

What a great guy, Thanks Rich....

Thanks all for the help on the thread of the C model monitor, Rob
