CDM password lock

Post by mypianoman »

I'm trying to program a CDM1550-LS. When I ask the software to read the radio, it asks for a password. Now, I just purchased this radio on ebay, and the seller does not know the password either.... He told me that the only way to get it to work is to clone the radio to another radio of the same model. But I would need an existing archive file of the same model.

Does anybody have a codeplug (.cpg) of MODEL # AAM25RKF9DU5AN that they would be willing to email me?

Would the original owner know the radio shop's phone number?
Maybe call them and explain the situation???

The seller of the radio told me that he got the radio through trading, and that he has no idea what the password. I don't think the seller knows who to call....

In otherwords, you bought it from someone who got it from someone who got it from someone who got from someone that stole it.....

If there is a way around the password, no one here that I know of has gotten around it. Unfortunately, you might have to take it to a Motorola shop and i would bet it won't be fun.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

Three solutions:
1) get the password
2) rewrite with a codeplug from similar model
3) send to the depot and request a disable of the password

I'll check all of my archive for the 'plug!

OK- I did get the radio to work. Jon sent me the codeplug and I cloned the radio to that, then reprogrammed the radio. Thank you, everyone for your help!
