"24" - Jack Bower Has Gone ASTRO!

Post by ASTROMODAT »

Did you check out tonight's episode of FOX's "24?" Jack Bower stole the cops radio---it was an ASTRO Saber. Sounded like the dispatcher was in analog mode, unfortunately. I had to play it back, frame-by-frame, in TiVO to see the beautiful "ASTRO" label! I think Jack kept the radio when he left the 7-11 that he knocked over. We can only hope it's flashed for IMBE, and the dispatcher tells him to switch to an ASTRO channel! Stay tuned---we may know by next Monday.

The back of the radio had no labels that I saw. I was thinking it was a Nick job :) (or a parts build). If you look, it is a dummy radio, like they sell at Gails. It had no SP/MIC, or battery charge contacts. I was not able to make out the Astro label, but it was a copy of a non display Saber 1.

I too noticed the lack of battery contacts- maybe it was the /\/\otostar BB holder:

I also like how the terrorists were using Nextel.

If only Jack were smart enough to use the officer's radio to his advantage and listen in on their movements he would not have gotten busted!
