Astro Spectra W5 to 255 modes

I have an Astro Spectra with a W5 head. The radio will hold 255 conventional personalities, but it will only allow me to assign 128 of these personalities to zones. Is it possible to upgrade this radio to allow me to assign the full 255 personalities? Current flash code is 100001-000000-7, model number is T04JLF9PW5AN. CPS sez the Firmware & DSP are unknown. Any suggestions ?

The CPS will say firmware and DSP are unknown when you read from an archive file. Read the radio, and those fields should be populated. You can also get the firmware/DSP by putting the radio into service mode.

Regardless, AFAIK, all W4/W5s are limited to 128 channels. You'd need a W7 or W9 to get 255 out of it.

Sigh...

More $$$. Oh well, I will probably just leave it like it is for now. Maybe if I happen across a W7 head I'll do an upgrade someday. Thanks.
