Fail 01/92

I was programming an XTS 3000 model #H09SDH9PW7BN. My CPS (4.01.02) froze while it was programming, and now I'm getting a "Fail 01/92" code after it does it's self test. I read another topic saying to just reprogram the radio with the original codeplug, but I was wondering how to do this if the CPS can't read the radio to begin with? Thanks.

You need to open CPS, and load a codeplug that you have saved to disk, and then hit write (Ctrl+w)

If you dont have a codeplug on disk that you can program the radio with - then the other option is to send the radio back to /\/\ for repairs.

I tried to write the codeplug to radio and the radio turns off then does the self-test, and goes back to the FAIL 01/92. It actually reads "Fail 01/" and the CPS says it's still using Com Port 1.

You wouldn't happen to have the DOS RSS for it with an archive?

DOS RSS seems more "forecefull" than CPS for correcting issues.

Unfortunatly I don't have the RSS. I am trying to see if I can dig it up though. Would I be able to open the CPS codeplug with the RSS?

No, you will need a DOS Archive from THAT radio to correct it.

01/92 is typically a checksum error. (Radio lost power/ unplugged during programming and the new checksum wasn't inputed before the disconnection. Now the radio boots with the new info, but old checksum and displays 01/92)

Your other option is try to get in touch with MrFlashport. I had the same problem with y MTS2000. I got a FAIL 01/93 and he was able to fix it for me. Try him before you send it to Mother /\/\. Good Luck.

any chance that the codeplug that you were programming into the radio was not a xts3k plug ?

I got the same error as you a while back from using lab and forced a mcs2000 plug by accident.

It was the same codeplug I read from the radio. It turns out I should have gotten a power adapter sooner, instead of relying on batteries. The one I was using died while I was trying to write to it again, but I have an adapter now, and it's getting fixed.

i want to prevent any unfortunate incidents like this and get a power adaptor for my rib (rln4008B) I want to go to radio shack and pick one up should I "assume" that i need one with an output of 9vdc? And also what should the polarity of the center pin be.

I'm not familiar with that particular rib, but I got the 9V adapter, and I brought mine with me to RS and they have there adapters on strings and they went through them until they found the one that fit. Mine is a center positive polarity one also. Good luck

Well, I have two Astro Saber VOCON's that give fail 01/92 and still do after reprogramming them with a codeplug from a brand new board either with DOS [AstroP] or with S-records [LAB] - so I guess I must be one of those people that don't know what they're doing.

If it's so easy - since these boards cost $1000 - perhaps you could enlighten us Matt?

i would add that 01/92 can be caused by either the codeplug or a hardware problem.

i too have seen boards that would not clear with an s-record dump or with a new codeplug.

in those cases it was off to the depot, especially now that some of the astro saber parts are NLA
