DO YOU THINK $730 IS A GOOD PRICE TO UPGRADE A XTS3000 MODEL I TO MODEL II...

Whoever is charging that is out of there mind! all you need is the Model III housing $300.00 complete from Motorola and the Keyboard. And then put a MIII codeplug into the radio! If you pay that for an upgrade make sure you wash after you bend over.

no motorola service center can change the model # of your radio.

not even the depot will upgrade a model from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3. this requires changing the radio model # and WILL NOT be done by any Motorola dealer/service center, etc.

this process can be accomplished - there are numerous posts here that explain how to do it.

it will not cost you $700+ to get done if you start with a model 2 radio.
