I am looking for feedback and information on same-band in-car repeaters.
On my work system we will be operating a mixed ASTRO/analog VHF narrow/wideband system. I need to outfit approximately 30 vehicles with in-car repeaters.
I am looking at the Pyramid SVR-200 (under $2000 per unit) and the Futurecom Mobexcom ($10,000 per unit!). Both units utilize filters for same-band operation.
In order to eliminate interference, we must have +-5 MHz spacing between our mobile freq and our simplex repeater freq. We currently have over 100 channels programmed into the radios (ASTRO Spectra’s, XTS3000/5000’s) and do not have a +-5 MHz spacing when scanning.
Our mobile: Tx 17x.xxxx. Rx 16x.xxxx ASTRO
Repeater simplex: 155.xxx Analog
Question 1: If the operator disables the scan feature before activating the repeater, will this solve the problem of interference.
Question 2: Does anyone have experience with either of the models or recommend others?
Any other ideas/comments are welcome. Thanks
