Is this something new? What happened prior to the error message? The fail 1/90 is usually a power cabling problem. Check all your power cables and start there. As for the other code, can't help you there.

Do you have encryption installed in your radio?

Hello,

More infos on my Astro having Error 31/82,

For Pj : No, this problem is not something new as I got the radio in that
state. Yes, 01/90 is a SB9600 Bus error (Head or cmd/vocoder board).

My problem is a bit different. When I boot the radio, I get the usual
SELF CHECK message and right after the FAIL 31/82 message. 5 seconds
later, the radio reboots and show FAIL 01/90 and reboot again and again.

If I remove the Vocoder Board which acts also as the controller, I get
the famous FAIL 01/90 and reboots. This makes me think that the
controller is doing something.

My question is : Does anyone knows what mean FAIL 31/82 - 82, I know,
it is a corruption. 31 is supposed to be a device address like 5 is the head.

For xts3000 : No, the radio does not have the crypto board in it. It may
have before but I dont know as I've got this radio out of a trade.

Thank you all for your help - Would be nice to have it working :-)

Daniel.

Have you tried to read the radio? If you hit F2 retry a bunch of times, you may be able to catch it inbetween the loops and get a read. I have been able to do that with Astro Sabers, X9000's, and a couple of Spectra's. Doesn't always work, but many times it will unless there is a big problem.

Astro Spectra FAIL 31/82

Post by tdilab »

Hello PJ,

Yes, of course, I have tried to read the radio 1000's of times
without any luck :-) While the radio is rebooting, as you said
it is not a bad idea to try to read - unfortunately it did not work
in that case ... Thank you for your help.
Well, if you have the Astro advanced service manual, can you
tell me what is error FAIL 31/82 - Thanks again,

Daniel

Help : Astro Mobil FAIL 31/82

Hello all,

I have news on this problem : While the radio shows the FAIL 31/82,
if I press the Home key for a few seconds strait the radio will display
"MODE _ _ _" with the " _ _ _ " blinking. I can then put any number
where the dash are and clear them with the # key - Pressing the
home 5 times during start up will do nothing

Does this gives anyone a clue on what is going on with this Astro spectra ?

Thank you / Daniel.
