Astro DGT-9000 Consolette Question(s)

Post by 4n6inv »

I have a NIB consolette for the Astro mobile. According to Big M, a W-9 Astro Spectra will work for a DGT-9000 remote unit. I have a 800 mhz W-9, but can't seem to get it to talk to the DGT handsets. Supposedly, the 1751's will work with Astro DGT consoles. Anyone have any insight in this area that they would be willing to share?

Thanks,

Jim

It takes an additional interface box in addition to the DGT-9000 handset. The DGT-9000 has to have the RJ-11 port connector on it to work with the astro series. Pretty sure it has to be a L1751 to work with a trunking radio as well. The additional interface box goes to the consollette and connects through the RJ-11 style telphone cable to the DGT handset. I'll look at mine tonight and let you know the part numbers. I might be able to scan a copy of the hookup info out of my astro consolette manual for you if needed.

lso the Spectra has to have the correct interface board in it. It can't be the tone remote board. It think it is a local control board.

Thanks for the tips. I do have the correct interface board - after having my wallet lightened significantly by Motorola.

I was trying to hook these up as local remotes - using the DB25 cables from the unit to the splitter and then to the handsets. Is this not possible? Do I have to use the extended remote option? If so, a part number would be a great help. I beleive it is L-1752 - if I'm not mistaken. Motorola no longer sells it or offers any info on it. Perhaps someone could help me out on this... A source would be even greater!

Thanks for the replies!
