Anyone know...

1 what type of duplexer comes in this system?
2 how do you interface another controller to this system?

And last but not least...anyone here know where you can get a much larger cabinet that I can mount all this into that has a lock? I want to move this into a bigger cabinet if I can find one.

In the UHF MSF5000 the duplexer consists of a T connector with three cables and the connectors to go to the output of the transmitter filter and the receiver frontend filter and the antenna port.

Will is right about the internal duplexer. If the station does not have that option any commercial duplexer should do as long as it is sutable for the job.
When re-racking one of these be aware that the MSF does not mount directly in a 19" rack, although the front panels of the pa, and RF tray have 19" rack mount holes. The RF drawer must NOT be mounted by the front panel. There is a 19" mounting kit for just such a purpose. I do not know if it is still available.
As far as installing a "controller" is concerned the complexity of the job depends on the requirements of the controller. If the controller requires an E&M control and 600Z audio, you could have a slight problem in interfacing it if you do not have the 4Wire audio card, and the Wild card option. In this case the WC option is where the the E&M interface. ( Ear & Mouth) This is old telco terminology for PTT & carrier indicate.
You would find this option on a station that was used on a microwave backbone. If the controller is a Zetron, Trident or similar that uses un-balanced high-Z audio there is no problem. the controller is connected directly to the control board. Since the station will most likely need to be re-programmed anyway, you should make the station a Base with no repeat function. If the controller has ID and PL functions the station is made into a Carrier SQ, base. the exact connections also depend on the version of the station. ie "analog, or Digital" If I can answer any other question I would be glad to, except that I will be out of town until 6 July after this evening. This is really neat. I have been on BatLabs for a very short while and every post to my questions here have been very informative, accurate and very easy to understand.

You guys are most helpful! Thank you to all of you and I want to give a special thank you to Bernie who put up with my many silly questions that I could have answered myself by reading the darn manual. LOL!

At any rate - my MSF5000 did come on line and after some minor TLC and I am happy to report that worked properly on the frequency programmed. It wont be too difficult to replace the prom and realign it, add my duplexers and have some fun.
