XTS2500 Model 1.5?

Post by mr.syntrx »

What's a Model 1.5? Like a model 1 with a screen but no front panel buttons?

My SWAG:
Something like the Jedi A/B/C4 series... display, no keypad. Maybe a top display, similar to the A4 or SSE5000?

If you go Google it, there's at least one state price sheet out there that mentions the model 1.5. They show it as being about $100 more than a model 1 for the base model (3600-baud trunking is another $1200... gotta love Mother's pricing structure.)

I have one as a demo in the office. It's front display, no front buttons, 48 channels...looks almost like a Model 2.

Good entry radio for an agency that doesn't need over 48 channels.

$100 more than a Model 1 aint bad... I couldn't see many people going for the Model 1 with that sort of price difference, really.

There's something to be said for the model 1s... less 'jit to break. I've seen displays smashed in on Jedi-series radios and Sabers before. Sorta hard to do that with an HT100, MT2000 model 1, etc.

Actually, no display, with the channel announcement feature would be pretty nice.
